Answer two-option probes. Watch your map grow.
Every app counts what you know. We measure how it connects.
Most learning tools score nodes — words memorised, lessons finished, streaks held. Fluency, in any skill, lives between the nodes. It lives in the path from rule to example, from theory to reflex, from what you can recite to what you can do under pressure.

Cognitive Topological Learning Theory (CTLT) is our word for a quiet consensus across the cognitive-science record. Vygotsky drew it as the Zone of Proximal Development. Hebb phrased it as "cells that fire together, wire together." Collins & Loftus mapped it as spreading activation. Bjork framed it as desirable difficulty. Kapur proved it as productive failure.
We build on all of them. We don't publish the recipe — the formulas, weights, and thresholds are our alpha IP. What we publish are the results, the changelog, and every named theory we ground the work in.
Read the science →Why not ChatGPT?
Because ChatGPT is a library. Plan2Skill is a gym.
If you ask a chatbot to teach you Spanish irregular verbs, it will hand you the answer — every time, instantly, with a clean explanation. You will not remember it. A library can be infinite and still leave you weak. Reading every answer is not the same as building the muscle to produce the answer without help.
A library can be infinite and still leave you weak.
Plan2Skill makes you do the reps. Every quest is an edge between concepts you already know and concepts you don't — and the only way across is to build the connection yourself. The app watches which edges hold under pressure and which snap. It shows you the map of your own understanding, including the gaps. Then it sends you back to the reps that matter.
Language models still play a role — we use them for the parts they're actually good at, like grading open-text answers and generating scenarios that match your level. What we don't do is point you at a chat window and call that learning. Asking is not building. A library, no matter how big, is not a gym.
That is the difference. And it is not a difference you can get by asking a smarter AI.
Read the science →Quests, not lessons. Heroes, not users.
You don't open a dashboard. You open a chronicle. Today's quest is waiting — a ten-minute expedition across three edges your map says are ready. You pick a hero archetype (the Scholar, the Builder, the Scout, the Diplomat — each one learns a little differently). You earn XP for edges built, not seconds logged. You bank crystals when you prove something under pressure. You carry streaks if you want them, lose them without shame if you don't.
It feels like a game because your mind already works like one. Progression, stakes, identity, a reason to come back tomorrow. We didn't invent that. We borrowed it from every self-directed learner who ever said out loud: "I want a hero arc, not a treadmill."
